In the community
I derive enormous benefit from working in the heart of Southamptons community and I am passionate about broadening access to the effective, natural healthcare that traditional Chinese acupuncture offers. As my practice grows, my focus remains clearly on benefiting my patients, irrespective of their economic status. As Lisa Rohleder, founder of the Community Acupuncture Network says, "Healing isn't an elitist commodity and it shouldn't be any big deal".
As such, I seek ways to provide affordable treatment to the community.
Sliding Payment Scale
Working from home allows me to provide treatment on a sliding payment scale, making treatment more accessible for some.
For several years I have worked as an acupuncturist and body worker in a charity that supports people living with HIV.
Community Multi-bed Clinic
However, I recognize the cost of private treatment can still be prohibitive. Therefore, I am currently looking for premises from which to run a multi-bed clinic for a few hours a week. Acupuncture is well suited to providing treatment in a group setting, which can reduce the cost for the patient to approximately a third of the average private treatment price in Southampton.
If your organization has a large(ish) pleasant room available for a few hours a week with access to toilets and hand washing facilities and you would like to empower your service users and local community through providing an acupuncture multi-bed clinic, please be in touch.
I welcome all enquiries from NHS service providers who would be interested in providing traditional acupuncture to their patients.
